LCFS provides behavioral health and residential living and development services. The program’s focus is on the treatment of mental health and substance abuse with emphasis on relapse prevention and successful transition into the community.

LCFS serves the population of males between the ages of 7-17. Individuals who have histories of substance abuse, conduct disorder, poor anger management, domestic violence offenders, maladaptive sexual and physical behaviors and those who have been court-ordered into treatment.

We are committed to providing services that are sensitive to the individual needs of clients, including issues around cultural identity, religious and sexual orientation. We are dual diagnosis capable and accept clients with mental health diagnosis as well as substance abuse issues.

Counseling

Our program offers individual and group therapy and counseling based on ASAM criteria. Individual counseling/therapy services are provided by a paraprofessional weekly and group counseling is provided daily. Group counseling/therapy service focuses on relapse prevention, assertive techniques, cognitive behavior distortion, crisis management, anger management, and motivational enhancements. We also provide behavioral therapy that helps each individual overcome destructive and unhealthy behaviors that may cause them strife in their everyday life.

Life Skills

Our transitional program assists the youth in the development of life skills, this part of our program is designed for youth ages 15-17 and offers:

  • Budgeting
  • Maintaining a household
  • Establishing and maintaining credit
  • Locating community resources
  • Time management
  • Locating and maintaining affordable housing
  • Job etiquette
  • Human sexuality
  • Cooking and healthy lifestyle choices
  • Vocational and educational preparation

Recreational Therapy

Recreational therapy is a type of therapy that promotes psychological and physical health through recreational activities and other activity-based interventions. The main propose of recreational therapy is to improve and maintain the social, cognitive, physical, and spiritual functions of a person. Activities for this program include the following:

  • Doing arts and crafts
  • Playing different games
  • Playing sports
  • Performing drama
  • Going out on community outings

Coaching

We also provide behavioral and behaviorial modeling coaching to our individual clients. The topics that we can coach each individual depends on what their goals are. Our professional and experienced coaches will work together with each individual to ensure that they are able to achieve what they set out to do.
